Privacy Policy

OfferLane explains privacy in plain language because your job search is personal.

This Privacy Policy describes how OfferLane collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the website, create an account, track job applications, manage interview timelines, use passkeys or magic links, and submit feedback through the product.

Effective date: May 25, 2026

What OfferLane collects

OfferLane collects the information you choose to add to your account and job tracker. That can include your email address, display name, authentication details, job applications, interview timeline events, salary notes, links, location details, deadlines, and free-text notes you save in the product.

How OfferLane uses that information

We use your data to operate the product you signed up for: authenticate you, keep your session active, show your jobs and timeline history, power reminders and pipeline insights, respond to feedback, and improve the reliability and usability of the app.

What OfferLane avoids collecting

OfferLane aims to keep data use narrow. Our current analytics scope is intentionally limited, and the product avoids sending rich personal details like email addresses, company names, job titles, and free-text notes as analytics event properties.

This page is meant to describe OfferLane’s current product behavior clearly, but it is not legal advice to you. If you need a formal legal review of your own obligations, you should speak with a qualified attorney.

Account and sign-in data

When you create or access an OfferLane account, we process the information required to authenticate you and secure your access. Depending on the sign-in method you use, this may include your email address, display name, avatar URL, Google identity-token exchange data, magic-link verification state, or passkey registration and login metadata.

OfferLane uses session-based authentication. In normal browser use, the app relies on an HttpOnly session cookie so your authenticated state can be maintained without exposing the session token to client-side JavaScript.

Job-tracking content you store

OfferLane is a job-search workspace, so the product stores the information you intentionally save about your search. This can include company names, roles, application URLs, compensation notes, locations, job descriptions, application dates, deadlines, status changes, and interview timeline events.

If you choose to submit product feedback from inside the app, OfferLane also stores the feedback category, message, and lightweight review status metadata so the team can triage and respond to product issues.

Cookies, passkeys, and security signals

OfferLane uses essential cookies and related security mechanisms to keep you signed in, protect authenticated routes, and help prevent abuse. These controls support account security, request validation, and session management.

If you register or use a passkey, OfferLane stores the credential material and verification metadata needed to support WebAuthn-based sign-in. Passkeys are used for authentication only and not for advertising or profiling.

Analytics and product improvement

OfferLane may use limited product analytics to understand how authenticated users move through the app and whether core flows are working correctly. That scope is intentionally narrow and focused on in-app events such as successful auth, page views for core product surfaces, and actions like creating a job or timeline event.

OfferLane does not currently treat analytics as a place to copy the substance of your job-search data. The goal is product improvement and reliability, not building advertising profiles from your application history.

How information is shared

OfferLane does not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that support core product operations, such as hosting, authentication-related infrastructure, analytics, or operational tooling, but only to the extent reasonably necessary to run the service.

OfferLane may also disclose information when required to comply with law, enforce product terms, investigate abuse, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the service.

Retention

OfferLane keeps account and job-tracking data for as long as it is needed to provide the service, maintain legitimate business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or security obligations.

Retention periods can vary depending on the kind of data involved. Session artifacts, security logs, and operational records may be retained for shorter or longer periods depending on abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and compliance needs.

Your choices

You can control much of the information in OfferLane by choosing what you add to your profile, job tracker, and feedback submissions. If you no longer want to use the service, you can stop using the product and request account-related help through OfferLane support channels when available.

Because the product is evolving, account management and deletion workflows may be handled manually in some cases. If you have a privacy request, use the contact guidance below so the OfferLane team can review it.

Children’s privacy

OfferLane is intended for job seekers and other users who are old enough to use professional job-search tools and related sign-in methods. The service is not directed to children under 13, and OfferLane does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Policy updates

OfferLane may update this Privacy Policy as the product, legal obligations, or data practices evolve. When changes are material, the team may update the effective date, publish the revised policy on the site, or provide additional notice inside the product when appropriate.

Contact OfferLane about privacy

If you have a privacy question, data request, or concern about how OfferLane handles your information, contact the OfferLane team through the support or contact method published in the product or on the OfferLane website. Include enough detail for the team to verify your request and respond securely.
